Treatments

Types of treatments we offer

Medical management
We assess the most appropriate treatments for our patients, for all different types of chronic pain including medication, interventional treatments, psychotherapy, exercise physiology and physiotherapy. Our experienced and caring team work with each other for an holistic approach which has been shown to be the most benefical way of managing and alleviating ongoing chronic pain.

Interventional treatments
These include a range of nerve blocks including epidural blocks and paravertebral blocks for spinal pain. Plexus blocks and peripheral nerve blocks for neuropathic pain or to allow mobilisation to improve range of movement. A comprehensive range of analgesic medication is used in different pain conditions.

Pain management sessions
Individual and group sessions are conducted by our registered psychologists, exercise physiologists and physiotherapists. The goal of these sessions is to address the behavioural, cognitive and physical changes that have occurred due to chronic pain. Both short term and long term goals are addressed as well as developing a self management program.

Interdisciplinary treatment planning conference
The patient, carer and treatment team meet after the patient’s assessment to discuss the condition and treatment goals. The GP and rehabilitation provider are encouraged to be involved in this meeting and at any time during the patient’s treatment.
